Technical Director

Born on 6 January, 1946 and educated at Kolkata. Graduated in the year 1966 from a premier institution, Bengal Engineering College, West Bengal.

Joined Jessop & Company, Kolkata as Graduate Trainee for 2 yrs (August 1966 to October 1968). In October 1968 selected through UPSC as Assistant Director in Ministry of Industrial Development & Company Affairs and had short stint of 6 months.

Selected by UPSC and joined Director General Inspection (renamed as DGQA), Department of Defence Production as Senior Scientific Officer Grade II, in the Armament discipline in April, 1969. Finally retired on 31st January, 2006 as Director, Metallurgy & Explosive.

During this 37 yrs. of service in DGQA,held many senior positions and credited with working in field of Armament Technologyand armament related Metallurgy. Travelled abroad twice in connection with government work.

After retirement served as Technical Advisor to Senior GM, Ordnance Factory, Kanpur and KISCO Casting, Punjab from February 2006 toFebruary, 2008. Also had the privilege to work in 155mm Dhanush Project as a consultant for GUN CARRIAGE FACTORY, Jabalpur with respect to indigenization of materials.

Joined MGM Forgings in April 2008 as Technical Director (Research & Development / Inspection) as a consultant and continued till October 2015, although company changed hands from MGM Forgings to AMW- MGM Forgings to SIDER FORGE ROSSIE. One of the achievements was introduction of major reforms in heat treatment and material procurement procedures resulting in large savings. Company achieved ISO 9001 Status during this period.

Took voluntary retirement in 2015 and was recalled by Sider Forge Rossie management in 2017 and worked as consultant for a short period.
Currently providing consultancy service and lectures to various defence and private entities.
